As an Indian state Odisha is passing through a phase of rapid demographic transition. Not only it is determined by the size of the population and growth rate, but by the composition and distribution of the population accompanied by changes in behaviors and aspirations. There are three key drivers of Demographic Change- Fertility, Mortality and Migration. These changes include shifts in population size, age distribution, gender composition, fertility rates, mortality rates, migration patterns, and other demographic indicators.
SYU design under the joint supervision of DIU-CYSD and UNFPA, was assigned to develop 2 high quality videos with focus on the impact of demographic transition in Odisha. The assignment required travel to many locations from different parts of the state to capture the ground level evidences. And craft a story out of real life incidences featuring personal stories and interviews of stakeholders including the representatives of the community institutions and other development actors across different demography.
